2011was especially special because it felt very sureal. It felt sureal seeing how everyone had grown. Some sworn enemies became best friends.. Some best friends grew apart.. Some girls became a woman.. Some became a wife and a mother.. I, myself, finally became a doctor.. Life became unexpectedly beautiful in its own way.. And every single details in it was fascinating.. Breathtaking.. Subhanallah..

There is a place in Bali called Tirta Empul. Local people believe, if we wash ourselves with the water from Tirta Empul, which they believe is the bathing place of the god and godesses, we will be cured from any diseases.
It is a very interesting place to visit while you're in Bali.

Anyway, my friends say that I have this weird smile when Bun, my boyfriend is around.

Just In Case

When I wrote this post, it was March 24th, I thought that I would be very busy very soon (due to my internship at the hospital). So, just in case I am not able to post anything, I made this post.

Anyway, tomorrow (March 25th) is my judgement day! The chief of GP Program of Medical Faculty of my university will be announcing my final score and whether or not I met the criteria to begin my internship on April. (Argh! Confusing sentence!) Anyway, just wish me some luck,ok? If I am not replying ur comments, it'll mean that I pass the judgement day and finally start working in the hospital like Lexie Gray *biggrin*

I love their attitude <3

I want to be free-spirited. Actually, I am. But it is hard to act silly and light-hearted when you have to deal with so many trauma-case, surgical-case, or yada-yada. It's stressfull, i have to admit. ;)

JOGLO >>

They are Joglo. Javaneese traditional houses. One of my friend, whose father is an architect, has Joglo in their house. It is sooo cool! If you go to Jogjakarta and visit Keraton Jogja (Jogja's palace), you'll be able to see the 'expensive and glamorous' version of Joglo. a must!

I was not "wow"-ed by it, but there was one scene which I loooovveee so much! It is when Walter Garber called his wife by phone before get on to helicopter. I think it is somehow romantic and touching. A very simple but straight scene indeed. Love it! <3

The 16-year-old was spotted puffing on a cigarette on the New York City set of the show last week, much to the dismay of some fans and anti-smoking activists.

I really love the show, and she was one of my favorite girl. But ever since she's acting out, I'm oficially an ex-fans. (but i do hope the smoking-thing was only for the show)
And now, I'm telling you, peeps, especially for teens. Smoking is not a good idea! It's not cool, at all! period.
I am a medical student. I've seen smoker lung, literally. And there's nothing beautiful about it. It's a complete opposite from a non-smoker lung, which's very healthy and cute in some way (do I sound crazy?).
So pleaaassseee... Find a decent role-model. Someone that worth it. Promise?

Oh,anyway, anyone watched Grammy?? (I did! I did! lol) It was suuppeeerrr cool. I love how they set the stage <3 But there were some part which felt kinda weird tho. hm..

A Recent Magic Lesson

To Welcome the new month, I'll practice a magic-lesson I've just got. And it is : *drumrolls* Insert video into my post!!! hahaha

In general, the video tells about the diversity we have in Indonesia. You can see the ancient Hindu-Buddha temples, Indonesian wildlife, wayang kulit shows, etc.
Actually, the majority of Indonesian people are Muslims, but there are so many ancient Hindu-Buddha's tourist sites in Indonesia, such as the temple of Borobudur and Prambanan. Historically, before the entry of Islam, there were great and strong Hindu-Buddha kingdoms in Indonesia. Therefore, Hindu-Buddha culture has strong influences in forming Indonesian's culture.
(Now, there are 5 recognized religions in Indonesia. There are : Islam, Catholic, Christian, Buddhist, and Hindu. Though we have different religions and cultures, we live in peace in diversity)

Anyway, my BF bday was on January 28th. I gave him ~~his favorite novel~~ Sherlock Holmes. He seems to love it, because almost all of his Sherlock books were gone (told'ya,babe,u should watch ur boys!haha). SO, I'll dedicate this look to my ~~24 years old~~ BF. Love you,babe.. Anyway, I'm so sorry for not being able to post "that" often :'( It's been a busy week. I had to finish my thesis by tomorrow (I have, tho). And I'll do the Thesis's Examination on, maybe, February 8th or something.

And,mm, (didnt mean to brag at ALL!) I joined WWF campaign yesterday. We, my mother and I, will be donated a few dollars every month starting next month, to help reforesting (sorry..cant find the right word) and save endangered animals. I wish this is not a fake campaign. I reaaaallllyyy want my my mom's money to be used for Earth's sake. I'd love to have a lot of forests in the future. And I want my grandchild to know and able to see the dolphins.

It is a musical instrument. (Indonesian traditional music instrument, of course). Originated from Sunda, Indonesia. I don't know how to play it tho.. But my friends, who are able to, said that it is usually played with a Sunda's comedy song.
There are two type of Calung, which I myself can not explain well about. So just check the appropriate information HERE or HEREEEE if u want to know more.

Bed Time Story

When I decided to make this blog, I promised myself that my blog would not going to be just a common personal blog that contain self-absorbed subjects and pointless. I did not want this blog to be just a place where I put lots of photos containing clothes and poses.

From the very beginning, I promised myself that I would give this blog a purpose. And as a starting point, my first goal for this blog, except as a place to put personal thoughts and start making new friends, was to make this blog a place to introduce my country, Indonesia, to the world.

Well... Perhaps you're not interested with Indonesia at all. Or some of you, maybe, cant even located it in a map. But that is exactly my point. I want you, people who read, to at least aware of my beautiful hometown. You might heard things about us (Indonesia). But I'd love you to see rather than hear things. I hope.. if you know my country better, then we'll start having some understanding.

(Hm.. Ok. Let's move on ;p)

In these few months, I've been talking about Inonesian's art, food, traditional ritual and legacy, beautiful places, yada yada yada. Then, today, I'll deliver something different. I'll tell you ~~a story~~, a myth. It is called : "The Story of Malin Kundang".

"A long time ago, in a small village near the beach in West Sumatra, a woman and her son lived. They were Malin Kundang and her mother. Her mother was a single parent because Malin Kundang's father had passed away when he was a baby. Malin Kundang had to live hard with his mother.

Malin Kundang was a healthy, dilligent, and strong boy. He usually went to sea to catch fish. After getting fish he would bring it to his mother, or sold the caught fish in the town.

One day, when Malin Kundang was sailing, he saw a merchant's ship which was being raided by a small band of pirates. He helped the merchant. With his brave and power, Malin Kundang defeated the pirates. The merchant was so happy and thanked to him. In return the merchant asked Malin Kundang to sail with him. To get a better life, Malin Kundang agreed. He left his mother alone.

Many years later, Malin Kundang became wealthy. He had a huge ship and was helped by many ship crews loading trading goods. Perfectly he had a beautiful wife too. When he was sailing his trading journey, his ship landed on a beach near a small village. The villagers recognized him. The news ran fast in the town; “Malin Kundang has become rich and now he is here”.

An old woman ran to the beach to meet the new rich merchant. She was Malin Kundang’s mother. She wanted to hug him, released her sadness of being lonely after so long time. Unfortunately, when the mother came, Malin Kundang who was in front of his well dressed wife and his ship crews denied meeting that old lonely woman. For three times her mother begged Malin Kundang and for three times he yelled at her. At last Malin Kundang said to her "Enough, old woman! I have never had a mother like you, a dirty and ugly woman!" After that he ordered his crews to set sail. He would leave the old mother again but in that time she was full of both sadness and angriness.

Finally, enraged, she cursed Malin Kundang that he would turn into a stone if he didn't apologize. Malin Kundang just laughed and really set sail. In the quiet sea, suddenly a thunderstorm came. His huge ship was wrecked and it was too late for Malin Kundang to apologize. He was thrown by the wave out of his ship. He fell on a small island. It was really too late for him to avoid his curse. Suddenly, he turned into a stone."

Older people believe that the story was really happened.

In Padang, West Sumatra, where Malin Kundang and her mother, was said, lived, there is a stone that resembles a man who was on his knees begging for mercy (They said, it was him). Beside that stone, there are other stones that resemble the ship and equipment believed to be derived from Malin Kundang's ship which turned into stone along with him. (Spooky in some kinda way, rite?)

Well...you can believe the myth if you want to.. ;) The point is : always respect and love your mom.

Hm, anyway, there is no much story I could share. By story I mean : about my life. I'm still doing my thesis, still missing my BF (this long-distance-relationship has started to get into my nerve ;p), and I was just seeing some random photos from the past. Ok. You didn't Get in Trouble for Lying, You Get in Trouble for Lying Badly (Drake&Josh)

The new year will soon come. One year will soon pass. Time flows sacredly, subconciously.
Hm.. A lot has happened this year. Some put smiles on my face, the others put wrinkles. ;) But, overall, I cant be more gratefull. Alhamdulillah..
I am looking forward to see the sparks of fireworks in the night sky and the loud of trumpet beats the other sounds at New Year's eve. ;) I am looking forward for the glimpses of future, the new years, the new days, the new blessings..
But the year 2009 will not soon pass from my heart, from my memory.. In 2009, I've grown into someone who has a broader view.. Thank God.. ;)

Here are some random memories..........................................of the soon-ended 2009

1. DIA
In January 2009, a short story I wrote, being published in a magazine. I received a compensation in the form of money that was satisfying. But despite all that, that short story is my first short story being published. ;)

2. Ulen Sentalu and The University's Bazaar
There are two moments that became my favorite for this year. The first is when I was on vacation to Yogyakarta and visit UIen Sentalu (a museum of the palace ladies) with my boyfriend and his friends. It lies near Mt. Merapi. It was very beautiful and super fun. The tour guide explained many things about the palace ladies, as well as their love story. Enchanting, I should say.
The second is the university's bazaar. At that time, my friends and I had to wore cute properties because the dresscode was "The Cowboy and The Fairy". I was being a fairy and wore a white fairy headbands. ;) There was lots of baloons and colourfull origami. cute!

3. Skripsi (Thesis)
This year, I made it into the most intense phase of every bachelor degree student's life : Thesis Work. Really adrenaline-pumping. Pure evil. But exciting. ;)

4. 2nd Year Love
In the year 2009, my boyfriend and I managed to celebrate our second anniversary. Hopefully we can celebrate our third anniversary in September 2010 ya.. ;) Who says long-distance-relationship cant work? :p

5. The Zipper Accident
Among all of the embarrassing incidents that happened to me this year. There is one that make me laugh in tears the most.
It is "The Zipper Accident". One where I walked along the alley's sidewalk of my friend's house with an open pant's zipper. I had no idea. No idea at all. I was UNAWARE. Unaware until, at the end of the alley, a pedicab driver scolded me and said, "beautiful girl with an open zipper". HFF! No wonder everyone looked at me and giggled along the way!!!

6. Make a Fashion Blog

Ahhh.... It's been a while since I last posted.. ;) sorry... ;) Do you guys miss me? No? Are you sure? Coz I miss you sooooo muuuuccchhh..!! I want to hug you, kiss you, and ask you out. jk.
Anyway, all of the sudden, I really really reeeaaalllyyy want to talk to you about Makasar. yes. yes. Makasar. ;p Makassar is capital city of South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. This city has some interesting places, excotic islands, beautiful beach, atractive art and culture, many kinds of entertainment, and delicioooouuus foods!! It is two hours away from Jakarta and three hours from KualaLumpur.
Things that intrigued me so I was suddenly talking about Makassar is the newly launched super cool theme park that is said to be even better than the Disney's. It is called "Trans Studio Theme Park" which is the world's largest indoor theme park at this time. Having more than 20 games and equipped with facilities such as shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, and marina.
Oooohhh... I wish I could go there... :'( Too bad there're still much things to care about at college. Troublesome! rrrr....!!
Ahh..since I can't go there, let's just take a look at some pics of the amusement park.. :'(

Anyway, my birthday passed with mediocrity. Well I've never really liked celebration, anyway.. But, this year, there is a friend who sugested me to make a small party. And I think,well, why not?
Hm.. I'll perhaps invite thirty or fourty people..
And, mm, the party plans will be implemented in a few days. So please wish all goes well ya..

Oh, and, by the way, there is a little unpleasant story left! Ready?? Ok. I'm telling you. On my birthday I had to take an exam on campus. And guess what! Erghhh... the most annoying is... my test ended in a mess! Oh dear..
But I tried (super hard) to remain optimistic.. I'm sure that I'll certainly get maximum score!! (amin!) Hff.. An exam on your bday?! What a gift! lol

In my opinion, among all of my favorite local magazines, Gogirl magazine has the most qualified fashion tastes. And actually, I had already wanted to talk about it long ago, but I've never had the time to write and (really) scan the pages.
But, peeps, look out! This December Issue really makes me crazy! I could not help my self to, patiently, scan those amazing fashion spread pages. Ooohh.. I just can't wait to share 'em to you.. ;)
Anyway, in every issues, Gogirl Magazine usually gives three themes of fashion spread. Every theme usually contains 7 to 8 pages of photos. And, in this December issue, the themes are : "Secret World", "Bad Romance", and "Party Like It's 1983". My favorite is the "Secret World", because besides the models look very beautiful, the clothes they wear are sugarliciously tempting me! God! I cant beeaaaarrrr!!

Yesterday, I went out with my ma. We went to see a movie, then ate some yoghurt, and tried the photobox machine. The photobox's pics looks cute, anyway..I love it! Perhaps we should do more photobox next time! lol.

Anyway, now I'm doing my Skripsi [mm, what do you called it in English?? It is similar with thesis] I need to do a research to get my bachelor degree. And now, I'm working on the proposal. It has to be done by this month.
Then after that, I have to write a report about my research. And by January, I wish, my report will be tested by experts.
After that, If everything goes fine, I'll get my bachelor degree on February.
After getting my bachelor degree, I'll have to do some works in the hospital [we call it Koas,here] for a year to get my MD [Medical Doctor]. It'll be a busy year, so I don't know what will happen to this blog.. hff... I wish everything will go just fine..
I have so much in mind right now. So mush to write also. But I don't know where to begin.
I will really really need your support. And your wishes of lucks.

By the way, I'm planning to give some giveaways, just like Phosphene, but it should wait until later. First thing first, peeps. I promise I'll do the giveaways as soon as I finish my proposal.

Have you heard about the earthquake, recently happened a lot in Asia? Did you see Padang on Twitter's trending topics recently? Do you know where is Padang? Padang is located in Sumatra, an island in which I sleep and live. Padang located a few thousands miles from my city, and I have relatives there. I feel awfully fortunate that my city is fine and stand still. But at the same time, I feel terible everytime I remember that Padang is not fine. There are still a lot of people trying to find their families there. A lot of people found death. Breathless. Wounded. *I dont think that I am strong enough to talk about it now.

I was born in Indonesia. I live there. I grow up, learn, eat, and blogs in Indonesia. And I know what you might have heard about my hometown from the news. But I'm happy here. I'm happy because my Indonesia can accept me as myself. Because, here, It is okay whether you are Moslem, Christian, Buddha, or whatever you believed. It is okay whether you are black or white. No matter where you're from, people will still be nice to you. You can still have a lot of friends, even if you're Chinesee, Japaneese, American, Korean, whatever.

I know that you might have heard bad things about my country. But have you been here? Have you see the beaches? the mountains? the valleys? Do you know how beautifull they are?

Yes. We have earthquakes. Yes. We are not a rich country. But we are open-minded enough to not taking people for granted, to not judge a person based on his religion or where he's from or even his skin tone.

Yes. We have values and manners that are different from most of others. But what's wrong with that? We still think that killing people is not right and need to be punished. We still think that you may not hurt other living creatures. So, what's wrong if we have a different views on certain things?

I appreciate differences. Do you?

P.S Please. don't take it personally. I never mean anything bad. It's just I'm so very very sad about what happened in my life recently.

I am so sorry for my lack of updates, guys.. This week was so exhausted, you know.

I was kept busy by Eid, the guests, the parties, all the celebrations, bla bla bla.. And I am not making excuses. seriously.

Well, alright, since I have lots of stories for you, I decided to temporarily not talk about Indonesia in this post.

First of all, I would love to say : Eid Mubarak all!! I know I was too late, but..whatever. lol.

In my country, Eid is like suuuppeeerrr fun! And the food,oohh, you just cant bare! And I AM gaining weight. lol. There's this food, we called Ketupat, and it is suuupppeerr delicious. You could never find 'em anytime except for Eid.

And what I love the most about Eid in my country, is : all the forgiveness. Like, if you have sworn enemies, then Eid is the most right time to apologize.

As for me, I thought, Eid is my only time in a year to meet my big families. It brought everyone together.

Anyway, few days ago, I was going out with my brother and my cousins. And there was this car, repeatedly hit our car, in purpose. Then the driver punched my brother's face. Then they ran away. Poof. And I was sooo extremely angry to myself, because all I could do was punch him back and called the police. So, if any of you know something about this black Daihatsu Xenia, BG 1553 LY, please contact me..

P.S When I first decide to write a new post, I was thinking of talking about something more personal to you. Like my families, my background, what I do for a living, etc.. But,mm, It should wait. lol.

The Toraja are an ethnic group indigenous to a mountainous region of South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
